10 Diet Rules You Can Break

On my article site, Articles Repository I review all articles for content and relevancy, and also to insure I am not getting improper content. The author of this article, Chester Ku-Lea, is fast becoming one of our top authors, and is writing some very good content with weight loss plan in mind.

While reviewing articles this evening, I read this article by Chester, and thought it to be both relevant and a bit tounge in cheek. I have posted it here FYI...

10 Diet Rules You Can Break

By: Chester Ku-Lea

There are actually diet rules out there that are meant to be broken? Yes, recently many dated diet guidelines and myths are up for speculation. You’ve probably heard all these silly rules before, but experts weigh-in on the worthiness of these supposed truisms - most of which won't help you lose weight or make dieting any easier.

10 Food Rules You Can Ignore:

1. Eating at night will pile on the pounds. The total calories you consume over a 24-hour period or over a week is what causes you to gain weight, and when you eat these calories doesn't matter.

2. It's best to eat at the same times every day. Eat when you're hungry, not when the clock says it's time to eat.

3. Dieting with a buddy always makes weight loss easier. Common goals may pay off but weight loss is a personal journey.

4. Dietary fat keeps you feeling full longer, so you'll eat less. Fat does take longer to digest, but it will not help you control your appetite. Foods likely to fight off hunger the longest are protein foods, followed by carbohydrates, then fats.

5. When you blow your diet, you might as well wait until the next day to get back on track. Nothing could be farther from the truth- always try to get right back on track with your next meal.

6. Refusing food at a party or when visiting is rude. Turning down food that you know will blow your diet is socially acceptable.

7. Skipping a meal every now and then will help you lose. Skipping a meal means you will be so hungry at the next meal that you are likely to overeat. This can also help lead to a slowdown of your metabolism.

8. Bread is fattening, nuts are fattening, pasta is fattening. Whole-wheat bread/pasta is a great source of nutrients, and it won't make you gain weight more than any other food with the same number of calories.

9. All calories are equal. This is somewhat true, however; you'll get more nutrients from a 100-calorie apple than from a 100-calorie portion of white bread. Choose healthier items if you are losing weight, or controlling your hunger.

10. If you don't clean your plate, you're wasting food. If you just don't feel right leaving the table until you've cleaned your plate, underestimate your hunger and put less food on your plate to begin with, or you may overeat.

Don’t believe everything you hear! Much of it is just superstition. Now you can tell your friends the real truth. In the end, nutrition experts say, many of the food and dieting rules we hold dear are meant to be broken - without guilt!

Using Green Tea in Weight Loss Programs

There are numerous health benefits linked with drinking green tea. For centuries, the Chinese people have been drinking and using green tea as cure for several ailments. Today, cancer prevention, weight loss, antioxidant applications, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties are only a few of the confirmed benefits contained within a single cup of green tea or a capsule of green tea extract.

Green Tea: An Introduction

Green tea comes from the plant native to Asia called Camellia sinensis. This plant is rich in the green tea substance called epigallochatechin gallate or EGCG. Green tea’s EGCG is the substance responsible for destroying free radicals in the body which are the number one causes of aging and diseases. The antioxidant EGCG in green tea also helps in lowering cholesterol levels.

Green Tea for Weight Loss Programs

A university study conducted by American and Swiss scientists prove that green tea can be used in weight loss programs. Using ten healthy young men as subjects for their weight loss program, the scientists compared the differentiation in energy expenditures of green tea and that of caffeine or standalone placebo. The results show that green tea boosts energy outflow by a significant four percent increase. This led many people to believe that green tea can have a major impact on increasing the efficiency of weight loss programs.

Green tea is a great substitute for people who are on weight loss programs because it can help them lead a healthier lifestyle. For instance, instead of drinking coffee and cream which are high in calories, green tea weight loss programs can not only save you from taking in too many calories but also let you obtain several healthful substances like polyphenols and flavonoids. Green tea also contains a small amount of caffeine, a key ingredient used in most weight loss programs because of its appetite-suppressant properties.

Other studies show that green tea in weight loss programs can help reduce fat by inhibiting the effects of insulin. Insulin is responsible for converting glucose into energy for the body to be stored into fat. By delaying insulin, green tea weight loss programs enable sugar to be sent directly to the muscles for instant use, thus preventing fats from forming.

Green tea in weight loss programs can also promote thermogenesis, the process by which the body burns fat and releases calories. This process is brought on by the interaction of the caffeine content and catechin polyphenols present in green tea. This is why weight loss programs based on green tea is an effective way to rouse metabolic rates.

No supplement or weight loss program is known to work miracles. However, studies do indicate that green tea have many benefits in store for those enrolled in weight loss programs.

Weight Loss Plan looks at data. In an email from Warren Whitlock this morning, I was amazed at the statistics he provided to me on the issue of obesity in the USA today.

The average age of people is now declining, due to health issues caused by obesity. In this day and age of modern medicine and the gains in scientific evidence, I find this deplorable.

On this site, many resources are available, including articles and discussion groups. It is well worth the effort to visit today.
